    Abstract
The study was about assessing the effects of the hunger project on households’ incomes in Kibiga Sub County, Kiboga district. The objectives of the study were to establish the extent to which the Hunger project has enhanced households incomes, to establish the factors influencing the current performance of the Hunger project to improve on the households incomes and finally to establish the general measures adopted to improve on the households incomes in Kibiga sub county, Kiboga district and Uganda at large. The research design is descriptive in nature as this would grant the research to obtain both qualitative and quantitative data needed about the effects of the Hunger project toward the improvement of the households’ incomes. Primary data was collected by questionnaires, observation checklists and interview guide and secondary data was got from reports, journals, internet and magazines and both coded. The qualitative data collected was analysed by the use of content analysis and the findings were compared with responses got by the questionnaire and analysis made thereof. The study revealed that among the services rendered by the Hunger project included provision of credit facilities, provision of facilities for food security, training of the households in business skills, savings and food security, employment creation capital investments and that they had contributed to the improvement of household incomes through increased income sources, high savings level, increased level of capital accumulation, improved investments, availability of employment facilities etc. However, they were facing challenges such as drought, unpredicted weather and climatic changes, poor attitude of the people towards food security and savings, lack of entrepreneur skills, poor infrastructure, and lack of knowledge amongst people on credit management, amongst others. There are general measures put in place by government to improve on households incomes such as PEAP, NAADS,PAF, encouraging SACCOs, provision of basic infrastructure and facilities, just to mention a few
